The Retail Paint Lead plays an important role in delivering an outstanding customer experience by helping homeowners, contractors, and professional painters find the right products and solutions for their projects. As a Benjamin Moore product expert, this individual develops and shares in-depth knowledge of premium paint products, color selection, applications, and finishes to confidently guide customers toward successful project outcomes. In addition to providing knowledgeable paint sales and customer service, this position supports daily store operations, assists with training and developing team members, and helps maintain an efficient, organized, and welcoming retail environment. As a key member of the Moore at the Meadows team, the Retail Paint Lead sets the example for service excellence, product expertise, teamwork, and operational accountability while upholding Moore Lumber & Hardware's Vision, Mission, and Values.How You'll Make an Impact
- Deliver exceptional customer service by identifying customer needs, recommending appropriate paint products, and providing knowledgeable project guidance.
- Support retail and commercial paint sales, including product selection, color matching, tinting, mixing, and accurate order fulfillment.
- Lead by example while assisting with training, coaching, and supporting Retail Paint Consultants.
- Support daily store operations, ensuring sales transactions, work orders, paint formulas, and inventory records are accurate.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, product displays, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with special orders, and support efforts to reduce inventory shrink.
- Help resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Support store sales goals, promotional activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies, safety procedures, and equipment guidelines.
- Collaborate with store management and team members to improve efficiency, productivity, and the overall customer experience.
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous retail, paint industry, or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience with paint products, color matching, tinting, or related applications strongly desired.
- Ability to distinguish colors for paint matching and tinting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to lead by example, support team development, and work collaboratively with others.
- Experience operating point-of-sale (POS) systems, computers, and other retail technology.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to learn new products, processes, and technology while helping cross-train team members.
- Dependable attendance and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, reach, and perform routine retail duties.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely work on ladders and elevated platforms as needed.
- Ability to work in a retail and warehouse environment, including occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

- Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
- Willing to learn all areas of the facilities and help cross train others.
- Proven track record of being a team player.
- Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
- Availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Aptitude for industry technology and software.
